Indispensable tool to motivate, to involve, to win the loyalty of, but also to apply the company strategy, and to increase the performance, the compensation package of the executives contributes actively, when it is well managed and mastered, to the success of the company and of the people who manage it.
Today, the compensation package has become diversified and complex, and the formerly peripheral components have become fundamental. The companies must be watchful : they must ensure that the executives benefit from all the essential components (protection program, pension plan, insurance plan, breach of contract...), that those components are optimized according to their specific needs (offer "a la carte"), from the tax and social point of view, and verify that their compensation packages are competitive with the market.
Under the pressure of public opinion, media and shareholders, the requirements concerning the compensation package of the executives have increased; they also concern the members of the Boards of Directors or Supervisory Boards, because of the evolution of the corporate governance of the companies and the development of their roles and their contributions. The stakes are thus multiple.
